Critical Home Repairs
Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the nation have started expanding services to serve more people in their communities. Our Critical Home Repair Program seeks to help low-income homeowners with much-needed repairs so that they can continue to live in a safe and decent home.
As with all Habitat programs, this serves as a hand UP not a hand OUT. Participants in the program must pay for materials and services, and our volunteers donate labor wherever possible. Those who partner for the program also complete sweat equity, which is working on their own home project or other Habitat projects.
Energy Capital Habitat builds homes in partnership with people from all walks of life who are in need of safe, decent, and affordable housing.
Habitat homes are not free. Homebuyers work hard to create a permanent solution to their housing struggles. They build their own homes, alongside their community. Partner families purchase their homes from Energy Capital Habitat with an affordable mortgage no more than 30% of their monthly income.
