Energy Capital Habitat for Humanity

Our Mission & History

Energy Capital Habitat for Humanity addresses the critical need for affordable housing by providing home ownership opportunities for Gillette families in need. We serve families whose income is between 30 – 60 percent of the current median income, as defined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for Wyoming.

Our Mission

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our Vision

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Our Purpose

We build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

In clean, decent, stable housing, families can provide stability for their children; a family’s sense of dignity and pride grow; health, physical safety, and security improve; and educational and job prospects increase.

Habitat for Humanity International was formed in Americus, Georgia, in 1976.

Our local Gillette affiliate was formed in 1997, joining the now more than 1100 Habitat affiliates worldwide. For more than 20 years, our organization has been entirely volunteer-led, relying on a mix of professional, experienced, and community volunteers to complete each project we undertake.

At Habitat Gillette, we build and repair homes for local families at a low cost, all with the support of our incredible community here in Campbell County.
